Forum Nine: Battery Storage, Electric Vehicles and Advanced Metering Initiative

Indy Energy will hold a special community forum at North Independence Mid-Continent Public Library on Sat., Oct. 27 at 10 am.

The event is free and open to the public

It has been awhile since we have held a public forum so want to share some new topics and catch up on some old ones. Our last forum was March 2017.

The topics for this forum include:

  • Battery storage for renewable energy sources (solar and/or wind)

  • Economics of electric vehicles

  • Advanced Metering Initiative (An Update)

Presenters will include:
- Eric Stoutenberg, Able Grid Energy Solutions
- Randy Hughes, former Independence Power and Light Planning and Rates Supervisor
- Jason White, Indy Energy

Here’s some information on what City Utilities (the municipal utility in Springfield, Mo) has done to increase renewable energy and also utilizing battery storage.

The Indy Energy forums are meant to be educational and share information about what is going on in the electrical industry, other electric utilities and focusing on public policy question and issues related to Independence Power and Light.

This will be the ninth community forum Indy Energy has organized since 2014.
