Indy Energy is a community effort to share information and raises issues about energy options in the City of Independence, Mo. which is served by the Independence Power & Light Co.

This is a voluntary effort by concerned Independence citizens and is self-funded. No outside contributions or funding is solicited or accepted.

IP&L ranks among the Top 100 public electric companies based on residential customers and total revenue.

The purpose of Indy Energy to promote broader understanding and discussion of energy issues facing the community including the environment, rates and economic development.
