Friestad recently wrote a major cover story about the growth and impact of data centers in the Kansas City area. Independence Power and Light has been working to land a data center, but currently lacks electrical capacity to provide sufficient power.

Friestad's story includes this quote from Geoff Marke, chief economist of the Missouri Office of Public Counsel.

“From an energy perspective, it’s a game-changer. With the data center inquiries that we’ve got on the table, as well as the existing data centers that are moving forward today in Missouri, the expected generation is just really, really enormous.”

This will be the 17th forum Indy Energy has organized.
